What is the Erasmus+ Internship Mobility Program?

Student Internship Mobility activity is the internship of a student registered in a higher education institution in a business abroad, a research institute, a laboratory or an institution or organization related to the academic field of study. Course follow-up at a higher education institution is not accepted as an internship. The internship activity should be an integral part of the student's learning program.

Any public or private sector organization located in one of the countries where internship activities can be carried out, in the labor market or in the field of education, training, youth, research and development, can be an internship place. Although there is no restrictive list, the following organizations can be considered as an example of a suitable internship location:
- small, joint or large-scale enterprises owned by a public or private sector
- local, regional or national public institutions
- embassies or consulates of the sending country abroad
- all kinds of formations / associations belonging to the business world such as chambers of commerce, artisan-artisan unions, stock exchanges and trade unions
- research institutes
- foundations
- school/institute/training center (it can be any kind of educational institution from preschool to high school education, including vocational education or adult education)
- non-profit institutions, associations, NGOs
- institutions offering career planning, professional consultancy and information services
- higher education institutions (Higher education institutions located in the program countries must have ECHE)

The following institutions are not eligible for higher education internship activities within the scope of Erasmus+:
- European Union institutions and EU agencies (bk. https://europa.eu/european-union/about-eu/institutions-bodies_en )
- The National Agency that conducts EU programs, etc. organizations.

Internship activity is not expected to be mandatory for the student's diploma program. However, the economic sector in which the internship will be performed should be a sector related to the student's current vocational education program.

October September 01, 2021 - Dec. 31, 2023 internship activities abroad; minimum 2 months, maximum 12 months can be performed between the dates. As Anadolu University, all grant internship activities are limited to 3 months in order to ensure that more students benefit from the program. However, if there is an increased grant at the end of the semester, there may be a monthly grant according to the remaining grant and the extended student period. The duration of the internship with a grant cannot be less than 2 months.
Eg. July August 01, 2022 - August 31, 2022 is exactly 2 months Dec. When calculating the date, the months that are 31 are calculated as 30.

Students each educational level (Associate, Bachelor, Master, PhD) in total or separately Hibel hibesiz to 12 months Erasmus+ has the right to benefit from the programme. Students can use these rights within the scope of Erasmus + study mobility, Erasmus + internship mobility if they want.

The internship activity can be carried out in each class during the study period and within 12 months after the graduation of students in the last classes of the study programs. Previously in the same learning stage lifelong learning programme or Erasmus+ higher education student academic success and benefited from the foreign language of students under internship, or when calculating the sum of the scores was previously used for each activity learning-regardless of internship) a reduction of 10 points is applied.

Students can become Erasmus+ students without receiving a grant if they wish. Non-grant students are also subjected to a general assessment along with other applications and go through the same process as Erasmus+ students with grants.

If you are going to use a score for which exam, you must submit a photocopy of your exam result document for this exam along with your application documents. If you are going to use the preparatory exam, it is enough to provide your approved grade breakdown table from the faculty, if you are going to use the Erasmus+ exam, you can specify it during the on-line application.

Internship Mobility Contracts containing the maximum calculated grant amount are signed with the selected students. Payments for the maximum amount specified in the contract are made in two installments:
• As the first pay before the student goes to the internship business, an amount up to a maximum of 80% of the total grant calculated according to the prescribed activity period is paid.
• 20% is made at the end of the internship period, taking into account the exact realization period included in the “certificate of participation” and passport entry / exit dates, as well as the student's level of achievement and fulfillment of responsibilities. There is a deduction in the grants of students who do not fulfill their responsibilities and/or fail.
Payments are made in euros.

In order for Erasmus + internship activities to be carried out abroad, the following insurances must be taken out by the institution where the internship will be held or by you.
• Health Insurance Coverage (Health Insurance Coverage)
o Usually, the participant's basic expenses are also covered by the national health insurance through the European Health Insurance Card during their stay in another EU country. However, the European Health Insurance Card or private insurance coverage may not be sufficient, especially in cases of repatriation or specific medical intervention. In this case, a complementary private insurance may be useful.
* Liability Insurance (Liability Insurance)
it covers the damages caused by the student (regardless of whether he is at work or not) during his stay abroad. In different countries participating in transnational internship mobility, there are different regulations on liability insurance. So, interns face the risk of being excluded from insurance coverage. That is why, at a minimum, the participant must have a liability insurance that will necessarily cover the losses that he may cause at the workplace.
* Accident Insurance Coverage (Accident Insurance Coverage)
o This insurance covers the losses that employees may suffer due to accidents at work. In many countries, employees are insured against such accidents at work. However, the extent to which transnational interns will be protected under the same insurance may differ between countries participating in transnational learning mobility programs. Dec. If the host organization does not provide such an assurance (which cannot be imposed unless it is mandatory according to the legislation of the host country).

The extension of the period can only take place during the current academic year. The following conditions must be met for the extension of the period to be realized:
* The extended period must follow the current period continuously (Holidays and term breaks are not considered as Decembers).
* The necessary arrangements (such as the October contract, the renewal of the learning agreement) must be completed at least 1 month before the end of the current planned activity period.
* The extended period cannot be extended after the end date of the contract signed between the Center and the higher education institution. Dec.

Students can do internships in places recommended by higher education institutions, as well as find internship places themselves. 
The organizations that will host the internship may be businesses, training centers, research centers and other organizations that meet the definition of business. In this context, appropriate business meant, size, legal status, and the economic sector in which they operate, regardless of any type of private or publicly owned institution/organization, including any economic activity in the Social Economy initiative.
If the institution abroad where the internship activity will be carried out is a higher education institution, the work to be done is not a learning activity in an academic sense, but to obtain practical working experience in the units for the general administration of the institution. Internship activities for academic study purposes cannot be carried out.
The following institutions are not eligible for higher education internship activities within the scope of Erasmus+:
-European Union institutions and EU agencies (bk. https://europa.eu/european-union/about - eu/institutions-bodies_en )
-The National Agency that conducts EU programs, etc. organizations.

* Being a full-time student enrolled in a higher education program at any of the formal education (including secondary education) levels of Erciyes University (Associate degree, bachelor's degree, master's degree or doctorate),
• To have a sufficient foreign language score; to have a score of at least 60 or more from the “Foreign Language Exam for International Exchange Programs” conducted by the School of Foreign Languages or to have a score equivalent to at least 60 from the exams accepted by Erciyes University,
*** The language threshold has been set as at least 50 for the students of the Integrated School for the Disabled.
• Have a sufficient grade point average,
o a) The cumulative academic grade point average of associate and undergraduate students should be at least 2.20 /4.00,
o b) A tran has not yet been formed at the application stage
 Associate degree graduation grade for students who transfer from the first Associate degree is at least 2.20/4.00;
 For first-year students, the high school graduation grade must be at least 75/100,
o c) The cumulative academic grade point average of master's and doctoral students should be at least 2.50 / 4.00,
* The cumulative academic grade point average and the Erasmus+ proficiency score created according to the foreign language exam score must be at least 55.

If the student has refused to participate in the mobility activity, he must submit a petition stating that he has waived his right. Otherwise, 10 points will be deducted from the ranking score in the next application.

If the student returns before completing the 2-month mandatory internship, he/she will return the grant he/she received. A student who returns early due to force majeure reasons receives a grant for the duration of his stay abroad and returns more, if any.

"Force majeure",an obstacle to the fulfillment of any obligation arising from this agreement any of the parties; the parties involved in the application of the subcontractor or third parties or affiliates are not caused by the negligence of errors that are shown all the care and attention and, despite the inevitable and unpredictable, also means any condition or event beyond the control of the parties is exceptional. Failure to provide a service, defects in equipment or materials, or their failure to be ready on time cannot be put forward as a force majeure cause, unless it is directly caused by a force majeure cause, as well as a labor dispute, strike, or financial difficulties.

Erasmus+ activities are not carried out in the same time frame, it is necessary to start another one after the end of one activity. After the end of the study mobility, the internship can be started without returning to Turkey or the internship can be started after the end of the internship.

The internship that the student does within the scope of the curriculum is fully recognized by Anadolu University. In cases where internship is not mandatory in the curriculum, Anadolu University carries out the recognition by recording the placement time spent abroad in the Diploma Supplement.
